Thank you for visiting my site. I am a UK born and trained medical doctor. I've been a paediatrician involved in the acute and emergency care of newborns, infants and children, at consultant level for over 20 years. I've worked in phenomenally well-equipped, state of the art hospitals in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle-East, as well as spending many years on the harsh and challenging frontline of acute care for children in Southern Africa.
In 2022 I completed a Master's in Public Policy at Princeton University, USA and I have a previous Master's in Patient Safety and Clinical Decision-Making in Emergency Medicine from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Combined with my extensive multi-faceted clinical experience, these qualifications enable me to contribute to planning, designing and leading the complex healthcare systems involved in providing safe, high-quality care for unwell children.
From late 2022 I worked, part-time as a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant in the NHS (locum contracts and bank), with an additional role from 2023 as a sessional Consultant paediatrician for the NHS111 Paediatric Consultation Advisory Service (PCAS)
My areas of interest include: patient safety, quality improvement, clinical governance, triage, standards and paediatric education & training. At Princeton I developed additional expertise in the effects of climate change on health, international health security and health policy challenges,
My mission is to use the knowledge, skills and experience I've acquired to help improve the acute and emergency care of children locally, regionally and nationally, as well as on the global health platform via the technical consulting route.
